Chris Ogden
I have been successfully leading and advising schools on all aspects of English and quality first teaching from EYFS to year 6 for the past eleven years. This support has resulted in improved Ofsted outcomes for schools. Using the latest research, I write and deliver specific English training which focuses on developing subject knowledge and effective pedagogical approaches. I also support schools identifying how reading (including phonics), writing and grammar can be applied to a range of subjects as well as improving test scores in SATs.
I support senior and middle leaders with their analysis of performance information, pupils’ work, and evaluation of the quality of teaching and learning, and am able to update schools with key messages through my work with the schools’ inspectorate.
Through termly updates, I provide schools with information on emerging national and local trends in English.
I am a strategic partner in Click4Teaching working collaboratively with Kate Burton (mathematics) to offer innovative creative learning contexts and approaches delivered through continuous professional development and Roadshow events for children.
I also work for Ofsted, The Severn Teaching School Alliance, The Marches Teaching School, West Midlands Consortium, and Chester University.
